The Free Hotel Stay, In Plain Terms
Donors are eligible for a free hotel stay as a thank-you for the donation. It is a hotel stay — room rate only. It is not a trip, a vacation, or a getaway, and we do not describe it that way.
Full terms
- Room rate only — the donor pays all taxes and fees.
- Activate the stay within 7 days of receiving it.
- Travel must be completed within 18 months.
- Recipient must be 21 or older.
- One free hotel stay per household per 12 months.
What is and is not covered
Covered: the room rate for the stay. Not covered: taxes, resort fees, and any other fees charged by the property; travel to and from the hotel; meals; parking; incidentals. The donor is responsible for those costs and for booking within the activation and travel windows above.
How to claim it
Complete the donation — start online or call 855-500-RIDE, then let the tow operator pick the vehicle up. Once the donation is complete, the stay is issued to the donor and must be activated within 7 days of receipt. Availability and participating properties are set by the fulfillment provider, and blackout dates may apply.
Consult your tax advisor. Vehicles over $500 receive IRS Form 1098-C from the processor.
